The generosity of our community has been made evident recently, by past Lauriston student Anna Campbell-Findlay (1989) who organised for beautiful chocolates, lollies and sweets to be delivered from her family's business Fyna Foods. These sweets included the very famous Wizz Fizz, which was created by Anna's grandfather around 50 years ago!
The OLA has packaged up these goodies and have created care packs that were delivered to our Year 12s who are learning from home due to the lockdown in Victoria. Here are some of the responses we received from the Year 12 families: I am Olive, mother of Yuhan.
Yuhan received your sweet care pack with deep gratitude this morning. This expression of love and support not only encourages the girls but our entire family. We sincerely appreciate all your care, connection and support. Also a special thank to Anna Campbell-Findlay for her generous donation. We understand it is absolutely not an easy job to arrange the logistics from shopping, packing to delivery under such circumstances. Be so proud and grateful of having OLA, an incredible community with a passionate group of ladies, in our school! I am Angela's mum, Celine. I and my family cannot express enough how grateful we are when we received the sweets package. Knowing that we have the whole Lauriston community backing us and supporting us, we feel warm and full of strength. I shared the photos of the package and letter on Wechat, saying what we feel, with such a lovely and family-like school community, and all our friends were touched too. Proud of being a Lauriston girl, Angela decides that she will do the same to support Lauriston girls when she herself becomes an old Lauriston girl. She believes it is how the love will pass on. Thank you for all your thoughtfulness and hard work. Wish you all the best. Just wanted to pass on a huge thank you to the OLA for the thoughtful note and sweets for the Year 12 girls! Definitely much appreciated and hopefully a boost to get the through these last 2 months. What a lovely surprise! It was so kind of you all to organise and coordinate the deliveries!
