We are shining a light on one of our most fabulous alumnae Dr Hali Halphen!  Hali and her family own and run The Fruitbox Group - an organisation that ethically sources and distributes fruit and groceries all over Australia.
Hali and The Fruitbox Group generously supplies fruit to community groups, offices, families and undertakes numerous initiatives that support people in need.  Hali is also supporting Lauriston this year by providing delicious fresh whole fruit to be shared at this year's Howqua Reunion at the campus in October.

The Fruitbox Group is the only truly national fruit supplier with local buying and packing operations in every major city. Their experienced buyers purchase the fruit locally and daily from local growers at the Epping, Flemington, Rocklea, Canning Vale and Pooraka wholesale markets.

With a local packing and delivery operation in every major city, The Fruitbox Group ensures that every piece of fruit is carefully inspected and ripened as part of a stringent packing procedure, delivered fresh and ready to eat at your desk or at home.

The Fruitbox Group has also set up a charity - The One Box:  Helping families in need, one box at a time.  The Fruitbox Group knows that in a lucky country like Australia, it’s really sad that so many families can’t afford to put fresh and nutritious food on the table. With thousands of children going without, they feel it is a social responsibility to try and make a difference.

The One Box program is an initiative that provides Australian families in need with a free weekly box full of fresh fruit, vegies, milk and bread over the full school year.   Each week, the team hand packs fresh fruit and vegies from Aussie farmers along with bread and fresh milk.  Working with local community groups to identify families in need, The One Box delivers those boxes to hubs for collection by the families.

In 2017 when The One Box was launched, 25,000 boxes of fruit and fresh produce was delivered over 25 weeks to 1,000 families.  This year, 2022, 100,000 boxes will be distributed to 2,500 families experiencing hardship across the country.

If you wish to get involved in this wonderful cause, to help The One Box's new approach to food relief, go here for more information.  There are many ways for you to help.

Hali Halphen - another Old Lauristonian, oozing generosity and who is driven by a passion for helping others, making a difference to society.
